CONHECA A SI MESMO
Uma das vantagens da ilustração, que na minha opinião é uma das mais significativas, é o fato desse tipo de atividade propor ao artista formas de autoconhecimento. Quando aprendemos a desenhar , ou mesmo quando já estamos em um nível mais avançado, começamos a entender mais sobre nos mesmos.
Você pode me perguntar: de que forma ? e a resposta será bem simples: Inicialmente, você vai sentir as dificuldades básicas de um amador e iniciante, mas com o tempo você começa a entender o que mais te chama atenção, quais são as suas principais referências e suas principais preferências. Em outras palavras, você consegue se conhecer de forma suficiente a ponto de saber suas limitações, se você gosta mais de desenhar pessoas, objetos ou paisagens, se você se sai melhor pintando com lápis de cor ou pincéis, se prefere sketchbooks ou quadros, ou ate se prefere algo mais digital.
No final do dia, você saberá se gosta mais de plantas, animais , pessoas ou paisagens. Suas comidas prediletas, suas melhores memórias e emoções, e tudo aquilo que te tocou de forma profunda, pois as coisas que expressamos através da arte é aquilo que nos foi relevante de forma única.

Self knowledge
One of the advantages of illustration, which in my opinion is one of the most important, is the fact that this type of activity can provide forms of self-knowledge. When we learn to draw, or even when we are already at a more advanced level, we begin to understand more about ourselves .
You may ask me: in what way? and the answer will be very simple: Initially, you will feel the basic difficulties of an amateur and beginner, but over time you begin to understand what most catches your attention, what are your main references and your main preferences. In other words, you get to know yourself enough to know your limitations, whether you like drawing more people, objects or landscapes, whether you do better by painting with crayons or brushes, whether you prefer sketchbooks or pictures, or even if you prefer something more digital.
At the end of the day, you'll know if you like plants, animals, people or landscapes. Your favorite foods, your best memories and emotions, and everything that touched you deeply, because the things we express through art are the things that has been relevant to us in a unique way.

O início de qualquer atividade é sempre mais desafiador, as limitações são diversas, mas com a dose diária e exata de motivação e determinação você chega onde quer. Com a ilustração, o primeiro desafio é evitar as linhas tortas, ou que não se enquadram áquele desenho (lembrando que elas não são erradas, pois algumas pessoas tem como características o traço realmente torto como uma identidade própria), os borrões, as faltas de proporções, e a precisão dos detalhes.
Mas com o tempo e muita, mas muita prática, você começa a notar que seus traços começam a se alinhar de forma mais coordenada e precisa, que você não precisa passar mais horas desenhando uma boca de um personagem, pois já atingiu o resultado que queria antes do que esperava, e começa a perceber que atingiu seu objetivo de forma mais rápida e precisa.

The beginning of any activity is always more challenging, the limitations are diverse, but with the daily and exact dose of motivation and determination you get anywhere you want. With the illustration, the first challenge is to avoid the crooked lines, or those that do not fit into that drawing (remembering that they are not wrong, since some people have the features really crooked as their own identity), the smudges, the lack proportions, and detail accuracy.
But over time and lots of practice, you start to notice that your strokes begin to align in a more coordinated and precise way, that you do not have to spend more hours drawing a character's mouth, because you have already achieved the result you wanted faster than the previous attempts and you begin to realize that you have achieved your goal quicker and more accurately.

Um ponto imprescindível quando falamos de uma das vertentes da arte, é que ela nos deixa sensível às outras formas de manifestações artísticas. Quando desenhamos, ilustramos, ou pintamos, ficamos mais sensíveis, por exemplo, ao trabalho de outros autores, imaginando o tempo de trabalho investido em uma obra, ou o a mensagem que ele tentou passar ali.

compreender características técnicas das obras, à medida que vamos aprendendo
sobre elas, enquanto pintamos e desenhamos, então logo começamos a perceber
noções de sombra e luz usados nas pinturas de outros artistas, bem como de
dimensão, profundidade, riqueza de detalhes e assim por diante.
Essa compreensão artística não serve somente como inspiração para melhorarmos ou adaptarmos a nossos próprios trabalhos, mas também serve como forma de valorizar o trabalho de outras pessoas que investiram tempo, dedicação e muitas emoções em seus processos de criação.

Além de tudo, a ilustração, desenho ou pintura são atividades que exigem alto grau de concentração. Mas a concentração aqui, não é maçante, rígida ou perturbadora. A concentração exigida é relaxante, e não a do foco no trabalho automatizado, não a do foco no resultado que alguém esta te cobrando, mas sim o foco no resultado do que você quer transmitir. A ilustração por fim, exige concentração necessária para que o artista consiga mandar a sua mensagem ou deixar claro através do desenho, aquilo que ele queira, mesmo quando não saem como o esperado. E essa concentração trabalha um requisito muito necessário na sociedade atual, a paciência.

Eu nem preciso me alongar aqui, deixando claro que a arte e uma das atividades mais relaxantes que se tem para desestressar depois de uma rotina puxada de muito trabalho e estudo. Com a música certa, o ambiente apropriado e a dedicação necessária, você consegue viajar para o mundo da lua. Imaginar coisas da vida, fazer planos enquanto desenha pensando de tudo um pouco, e em nada ao mesmo tempo.
